2019 Grammy Awards: Full List of Nominations
the 61st annual grammy awards are almost here! and while we love a night filled with pushing-the-boundaries fashion and unforgettable music collabs, we’re hyped to the see the number of women nominated for a big award this year.
in 2018, 86 awards were handed out, but only 17 went to women or female-led groups. and on top of that, only six women were nominated in the big four categories: album of the year, song of the year, record of the year, and best new artist.
but 2019 is rolling out the red carpet for female artists, with 15 women nominated in those big four categories (in fact, the show expanded the pool to eight nominees for each award, instead of five, to allow for larger representation!). cardi b, brandi carlile, h.e.r., janelle monae and kacey musgraves are all nominated for album of the year too, outnumbering the men nominated in that category (🎶 who run the world? 🎶).
but enough from us. check out the full list of noms for yourself—and be sure to tune into the 2019 grammy awards (sunday, feb. 10 from 8-11:30p et on cbs).
